Tonight’s premiere at Seattle International Film Festival (SIFF) will be a poetic return of James Broughton to the state where he died in 1999. A number of his dear friends and acquaintances will celebrate his life, even as people who never heard of the guy will be inspired to “follow their own weird.”
SIFF has two screenings:
Filmmakers Eric Slade and Stephen Silha, as well as Cinematographer/Producer Ian Hinkle, will be present at both screenings.
And there will be an after-party Friday at the Tin Lizzie Lounge at the Marqueen Hotel, just up the block and across the street.
For those who want to shake it into the night, the Pony Bar will host “Shake It!” dance parties in honor of Big Joy both Friday and Saturday nights. They will offer happy hour prices for Big Joy attendees ($3 wells and drafts) and will play some Broughton films.
Celebrate BIG JOY in Seattle this weekend!
