The Music of His Dance: Volume 1 features music by Severino (Horse Meat Disco) with Hifi Sean (Raw, Bearracuda) as Up Yours (Southern Fried/Get Up Recordings), The SyntheTigers featuring (Moulton Music), and Two Dudes In Love, Juan Ramos, and Kenneth Kemp (Friends With Benefits Records).

James Broughton (1913-1999) was a poet, experimental filmmaker, and performance artist whose intriguing life and work are featured in the new documentary Big Joy: The Adventures of James Broughton.
The compilation aims to renew interest in Broughton’s legacy of freedom, acceptance, and following your own weird by sampling his Spoken Word poetry in the context of modern deep house, disco house, and indie dance/nu-disco.
James Broughton: The Music Of His Dance (Vol. 1) was released on March 18, 2014, in advance of the New York showings of the documentary feature film Big Joy: The Adventures of James Broughton in New York City.
James Broughton: The Music Of His Dance (Vol. 2) was released on June 17, 2014 in celebration of our DVD release of the documentary and LGBTQ Pride Month.
